Stitching Tips

Use a firm cutaway stabilizer on all knit and stretch fabrics. On structured twill caps, pair a medium-weight tearaway with a foam topping for good fill loft and surface smoothness. On fleece or terry, apply water-soluble topping to prevent the red satin fill from sinking into the pile. Check tension after the first color run — the large red fill panels at 6 and 7 inches run for an extended period, and any tension drift that starts early will compound across the full fill. The teal outline stitches last, so perimeter accuracy depends on how cleanly the fills settled.
