This Indiana Pacers embroidery design delivers the full official P logo and wordmark lockup in a single production-ready file. A large bold black capital P dominates the upper composition, with a basketball embedded directly into the curved bowl of the letter. The white panel fills and black seam lines of the ball occupy the interior of the P with organic precision, making the basketball feel like part of the letterform rather than something placed on top of it. A white vertical speed-line bisects the letter stem, adding motion and depth. Below the P, "Pacers" is set in bold italic sans-serif lettering with a tight satin border that completes the full official lockup.
The vertical stacked structure makes this the right file for center-chest hoodie placements, cap fronts, and left-chest logo positions where a tall composition works better than a wide horizontal mark. At larger sizes it anchors a garment front with genuine visual authority. At smaller sizes the P silhouette and the ball inside it remain readable even on cap fronts and youth apparel.
Design Details
The P letterform is filled with dense black satin and framed by a thick black satin outer border with consistent width around the full perimeter, including the rounded top of the bowl and the angled lower serif at the base of the stem. Inside the bowl, the basketball is constructed as a layered element: white directional fill stitches cover each panel zone following the curved geometry of the ball, and the black seam lines are raised satin runs sitting above the white fill with clean, elevated edges. The speed-line on the stem runs vertically from top to bottom of the letter as a narrow white satin element that catches light differently than the surrounding black fill, creating a subtle metallic quality at larger sizes. The "Pacers" wordmark below uses the same bold italic structure visible in the thumbnail, with consistent letter weight and a satin border that ties it visually to the border of the P above.

Digitizing Quality
Embedding a detailed basketball inside a filled letterform requires solving a three-layer density problem. The black P fill must be opaque and solid without creating so much lateral tension that the letter distorts on stretch fabrics. The white basketball panel fills must sit above the black base without sinking into it, which requires precision underlay beneath each white fill zone before stitching. The black seam lines over the white panels must then be raised above both layers as individual satin elements with their own underlay, creating the three-tier construction visible in the thumbnail where the seam lines clearly sit on top of the white fill rather than merging with it. This file handles all three layers independently with appropriate density settings at each level. The speed-line on the stem is positioned within the letter body and stabilized so it reads as a crisp graphic detail at sizes as small as 2 inches. The Pacers wordmark below uses light to moderate density calibrated for the italic letterforms to prevent fill bleed at the angled terminals.
Recommended For
This Indiana Pacers machine embroidery design works well for center chest placement on hoodies and crewneck sweaters, left chest badge placement on polo shirts and practice jerseys, cap front embroidery at 3.5 inch and smaller sizes, youth basketball program gear and Pacers fan merchandise, personalized gifts for Hoosier basketball fans, and premium outerwear and jacket front placements at the larger sizes.
Stitching Tips
Use premium polyester thread in true black such as Madeira 1000 or Isacord 0020 and bright white such as Madeira 1002 or Isacord 0101 for maximum contrast and fill opacity. Medium-weight cut-away stabilizer is strongly recommended for all fabric types, as the large black fill areas across the letter body generate significant directional tension that tearaway stabilizer may not fully control. On gold and navy Pacers-colored garments the black and white palette creates particularly strong visual contrast. At the 2 inch and 2.5 inch sizes, apply water-soluble topping on terry and pique fabrics to prevent the basketball seam lines from sinking into the fabric texture.
