Charlotte Hornets Flying Hornet Mascot Embroidery Design
The Charlotte Hornets full-character mascot in a dynamic diagonal flying pose: a compact deep royal blue-purple body with teal detail markings suggesting segmented insect anatomy, the large left wing spread wide in three distinct panels separated by gray outline structure with a white lower section, teal middle stripe, and purple upper fill, and the smaller right wing curving back as a counterbalance. Two curved gray antennae reach out past the wingspan from the top of the head and a gray stinger tapers to a sharp point below the body. All wing tips, antenna ends, and the stinger taper to precise points within the unified gray outline structure that frames the full silhouette. Best at 5 inches and above where the body detail markings and wing panel layering carry fully.
Eleven sizes from 2 to 7 inches wide. Minimum hoop required is 4x4 inches. Four thread colors: royal blue-purple, teal, white, and gray.

Recommended Uses
Varsity and bomber jacket backs and fronts, hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts, premium caps, basketball jerseys, and tote bags. At 5 to 7 inches the wing panel layering, body detail markings, and antenna reach carry fully as a centerpiece placement. At 2.5 to 3 inches the character silhouette reads cleanly as a sleeve patch or bag side panel accent where full detail resolution is not required.
Stitching Tips
Use a firm cutaway stabilizer on all knit fabrics as the diagonal composition creates variable pull forces across the hoop area during stitching. For structured caps, use a firm cap form and consider a light water-soluble topping on textured surfaces to keep the wing panel fill lines lying flat. Thread color accuracy is critical on this design: the purple should be a true violet-leaning royal purple rather than blue-purple, and the teal should be bright cyan-teal rather than seafoam. If the two colors are too close in value the body detail markings lose definition, so run a test stitch on scrap fabric to verify color separation before committing to a finished piece, particularly at smaller sizes where the teal body markings are already compact.
