Design Details

The outer structure is a black fill ring with an orange satin perimeter border and a clean white satin inner ring boundary separating the black field from the center disk. CINCINNATI spans the upper arc and BENGALS fills the lower arc with its wider, heavier letterforms, both in white collegiate lettering.

The center disk holds a football shape with the pointed ends extending toward the left and right sides of the circle. The upper and lower football panels are rendered in light gray-white fills that follow the natural curved surface of the ball. The middle section carries the diagonal orange and black stripe pattern of the B mark, with the white B counter fills keeping the letterform legible against the busy stripe background. The overall effect reads as the B emerging from inside the football rather than sitting in front of it.

Stitching Tips

Use the same orange thread for the outer border, the stripe fill, and the text background elements to keep color consistency across the badge. A slight mismatch between the border orange and the stripe orange is the most common color error on this type of multi-zone badge and it is obvious in direct light.

Use a firm cutaway stabilizer on all fabric types. The diagonal stripe fill in the center disk applies tension across the fabric at an angle, and on stretch materials this can cause the circle to pull slightly oval. Reduce machine speed through the center stripe section and confirm the disk is still reading as round on your test stitch before running production units. On fleece or terry, use a water-soluble topping across the full center disk area to keep the stripe columns and football panel fills sitting above the pile surface.
