Digitizing Quality

The primary digitizing challenge in this design was achieving clean taper at the tip of each individual feather blade across both wings. Each feather narrows to a sharp pointed end, requiring the satin stitch fill to reduce smoothly to a single thread width at the tip without splitting or leaving a blunt termination. With ten or more feather blades across the full wingspan, consistency of tip quality across all blades was a key quality focus, as any irregular tip stands out immediately against the clean negative space channels between feathers.

Left-right symmetry of the two wing spreads was the second critical requirement. Because the crest is viewed as a formal heraldic composition, any visible asymmetry in feather length, fill density, or blade angle between the left and right wings degrades the authority of the design.
