Digitizing Quality

The primary digitizing challenge in this design was maintaining consistent gap spacing between the spiral arc strokes in the rose center. The open white counter spaces between adjacent arcs are what create the spiral illusion, and if any arc drifts slightly wider or narrower than intended, the gap either closes and the spiral reads as a filled mass, or opens too wide and the arc reads as an isolated stroke rather than part of a continuous spiral. The thorn paths were digitized as narrow satin columns with a controlled taper to a single-thread width tip, keeping each thorn sharp and distinct from the stem body.

The teardrop forms hanging from the stem ends required attention at their curled tips. Each teardrop curves back on itself at the lower end in a tight inward curl, and the satin stitch fill must follow that curve and terminate cleanly at the innermost point of the curl without a visible blunt end or thread accumulation at the tight curve terminus.
