Stitching Tips

Use a medium-weight cutaway stabilizer on all fabric types to control the lateral tension from the large royal blue circular fill. Fabric color selection directly affects the ship illustration: light gray and white backgrounds produce the clearest channel contrast while darker fabrics reduce the ship definition. At 3 to 3.5 inches, apply water-soluble topping on textured fabrics to prevent narrow ship channel lines from filling in with fabric pile and to keep the ring text letterforms sharp on the tight arc. Always test stitch before production, checking specifically that the vertical mast channel runs straight and the horizontal yard arm channels stay true horizontal on the finished piece.
