Inside sits a wide black satin band carrying "NEW ORLEANS" arched along the upper arc and "SAINTS" arched along the lower arc in white collegiate block letters with per-character rotation. A thin white inner ring separates the black band from the gold inner disc. The gold inner disc fills the central field. Within this disc, the fleur-de-lis is rendered in gold satin fill with a black satin inner outline tracing the inner boundary of the symbol and a white satin outer ring tracing the outer perimeter — these two concentric border lines define the fleur-de-lis as a distinct form against the gold disc background even though the fill colors of the symbol and the disc are identical. The fill direction of the outer gold ring is set perpendicular to the inner disc fill direction, producing a visible tonal sheen difference between the two gold zones that reads as depth rather than color variation.
