Its outline traces a tall narrow vertical right stroke descending the full height of the numeral, a horizontal crossbar extending to the left from the mid-point of this vertical stroke, a diagonal left stroke ascending from the base of the crossbar junction up to the chamfered upper left corner, and a short downward extension at the lower right of the vertical stroke forming the foot of the numeral. An interior counter outline traces the triangular negative space formed between the diagonal left stroke, the crossbar, and the vertical right stroke, creating the characteristic enclosed upper bay of the "4." The "7" occupies the right portion as a structurally minimal numeral by comparison. Digitizing Quality

The long diagonal descent stroke of the "7" is the single longest uninterrupted diagonal satin run in the Shadow Varsity collection. Across this full run, the satin columns must remain perpendicular to the stroke axis and maintain consistent width and tension without any intermediate direction change to reset the stitching baseline. Underlay architecture beneath this diagonal was specifically engineered to prevent the lateral fabric drift that accumulates across extended diagonal satin runs on woven garment fabrics, keeping the finished stroke straight and even from top tip to bottom tip.

The triangular counter of the "4" presents the most acute interior corner in this collection. Where the diagonal left stroke meets the horizontal crossbar at the lower left of the counter, the interior angle is sharper than any of the right-angle or chamfered corners seen elsewhere in the series.
