The Detroit Lions lion in its only front-facing symmetrical view in the collection. A wide blue mane fills the upper composition in individual strand elements radiating outward from the head, each strand a blue satin fill bordered with white satin, arranged symmetrically from the crown and sides. The lion face at center is white satin fill: forehead, brow ridge, cheeks, muzzle, and chin. Blue satin detail elements sit within the white face zone for the eye sockets and pupils, nasal bridge, and chin line. Both eyes face forward directly, identically constructed white eye whites with blue pupils positioned symmetrically on both sides of the center axis. The curved DETROIT banner arches below with its ends curving downward, overlapping the lower mane: a blue fill banner carrying large white-bordered blue satin block lettering. No background fill. Nine sizes from 3 to 7 inches wide.

Recommended Uses

Center chest on hoodies and sweatshirts, left-chest on polo shirts and fan jerseys, cap fronts at 3 to 3.5 inches, and sleeve or jacket placement at the larger sizes. The direct front-facing symmetrical composition provides a visually different statement from the lateral leaping lion across every other Lions design in the collection. Works well for fans who want maximum eye contact from their fan gear.

Stitching Tips

Stitch the lion mane blue elements first, then the white face fill, then the blue facial detail passes, then the banner and DETROIT lettering last as the front element in the overlap zone. The banner must stitch after the lion is complete so it reads as overlapping the mane rather than sitting behind it. Use a medium-weight cutaway stabilizer on knit and stretch fabrics. At 3 and 3.5 inches on textured fabrics, apply water-soluble topping to preserve the mane strand detail, eye registration precision, and letter border edges.
