The wide horizontal proportion with the basketball element extending to the left of the J works best on flat centered placements. On stretch jerseys and hoodies, cutaway stabilizer prevents the horizontal span from pulling across the chest during the run.

Stitching Tips

Use a medium-weight cutaway stabilizer on stretch fabrics such as jerseys and hoodies to prevent distortion across the wide wordmark. For structured twill and canvas, tearaway is sufficient. The outline UTAH lettering above the wordmark uses satin border stitching only with no fill, so consistent hoop tension is essential at smaller sizes to keep the open letter forms from collapsing. At 2 to 2.5 inches, apply water-soluble topping on textured fabrics to keep the outline UTAH lettering crisp and the basketball seam channels readable.
