The shield format works cleanly for centered chest placement and iron-on patch production. At 5 to 7 inches it reads as a statement piece on outerwear. At 3 to 4 inches it works as a left-chest placement on polo shirts and performance tops.

Stitching Tips

Use a firm cutaway stabilizer on all fabric types. The layered fills create significant stitch density in the helmet area and any stabilizer movement will show as misregistration between the gold and gray fills at the split line. Check that your bobbin is fully wound before starting as the high stitch count makes mid-fill bobbin runout the most common interruption point. The gold thread should be a rich medium gold, not pale yellow-gold or deep antique gold, to match the team's visual identity at finished size. The helmet gray is a medium cool gray, not warm metallic. On structured caps, use a firm cap form and slow machine speed through the helmet dome sections for the cleanest gold satin surface.
